The Opening Closets: Creating Community Together organizing committee is comprised of individuals who are members of the community who openly identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered. It organizes an annual one day educational conference promoting equality and inclusion of LGBT individuals in Simcoe County.
 
It also publishes Queers Connecting Out, a quarterly newsletter which includes a list of LGBT resources and organizations in Simcoe County, notices of community events and articles of interest to the LGBT community.
