Pyromanie
Une personne qui met le feu délibérément a un comportement incendiaire. Chez les enfants et les jeunes, mettre le feu est souvent dû 1) àde la curiosité et au désir de faire l'expérience du feu; ou 2) d'autres raisons comme a) un cri à l'aide en mettant le feu avec symptômes sous-jacents de dépression ou de problèmes interpersonnels; b) un incendie criminel fait expressément pour causer du dommage à la propriété et qui peut être fait en accord avec un adulte; c) une variété d'autres raisons qui incluent mettre le feu suite à une connaissance affaiblie et un mauvais contrôle des pulsions causé par le syndrome d'alcoolisme fœtal. Les adultes qui mettent le feu de façon pathologique peuvent avoir comme cause la pyromanie, qui se définit comme vouloir mettre le feu délibérément pour le plaisir ou la satisfaction de libérer la tension expérimentée avant l'évènement.
